‘Sleepwalk’
Original oil painting - 16” × 20” - By Amber Brunsden Art
I painted ‘Sleepwalk’ from a place of grief, loss and the strange feeling of moving through time when you're grieving someone you love.
There are moments when life carries on around you, yet you feel as though you're sleepwalking through it all. Days blur together, the world feels unfamiliar, and even the simplest things can feel distant.
A vast, black sky hangs heavily over a bright yellow field, with storm clouds stretching across the horizon. In the top left corner, a small opening of light breaks through the darkness, creating a powerful contrast between the two.
The darkness in this painting reflects the weight of grief, while the yellow field represents the world continuing to exist beyond it. That small glimpse of light is a reminder that even when everything feels heavy, something beautiful can still exist within the darkness.
‘Sleepwalk’s an original, one-of-a-kind oil painting, created intuitively from imagination, colour and emotion. A deeply personal landscape about grief, loss and the feeling of simply moving through time.
