This painting was inspired by wanting to capture the essence of a moody storm. The clash between darkness and light is just beginning and this is the moment before the storm really starts to erupt and you have that feeling all over your body where your hair stands on end!!
Although amidst the impending storm I wanted to put in a little chapel to show a stillness in the painting.
‘Awakening’ is a painting where I hope the viewer finds solace. And also, it’s about enjoying the true power of a storm. And sometimes we have to go through darkness to find the light.
I love this painting! A lot of pure emotions went into this painting, and I hope you the viewer can see that.
