So excited to announce and present this acrylic painting that my amazing artist mum and I created, this painting is a mother-daughter collaboration built on shared imagination and contrasting techniques.
My contribution was the brooding dark clouds and moonlit sky; I very rarely ever paint with acrylics so this was much more fast paced with lots of water sprayed so I could achieve the look of the moody clouds. This then set the tone for the world below that my mum’s hands then has to bring to life.
A scarecrow stands guard in the dark moody field below, a small church sits quietly against the horizon and tiny pumpkins emerge from the earth below. My mum was in sync with me and made sure each element worked together as we both wanted to create the beauty that can be found in darkness.
This painting is so special to me as it’s a piece of art that my mum and I created together. I really love this dark art acrylic painting, and we can’t wait for it to find its new home.
