Original Landscape Oil Painting on canvas 'The Storm’s Descent‘, 20” x 24”. Gloss Varnished.
The Storm’s Descent.
The Storm’s Descent is an original 20" x 24" oil painting where I wanted to explore the tension between darkness and light. I painted a deep black storm cloud to dominate the canvas, making it feel heavy and all-consuming as it hangs over a glowing golden field. I kept the horizon line straight and clean to really emphasise the contrast between the dark sky and the warmth below.
On the right-hand side, I introduced a small area of light breaking through the darkness. I painted it subtly on purpose, I didn’t want it to overpower the storm, but instead to feel like it’s quietly pushing through, refusing to disappear.
With this piece, I was thinking about the darkness we can sometimes feel within ourselves, especially at our lowest points. I wanted to express that even in those moments, there is always light trying to find its way through, no matter how small it might seem.
Painted in oils with a focus on contrast and atmosphere, The Storm’s Descent is both bold and contemplative, designed to draw the viewer in and hold their gaze.
All my original paintings are signed and dated on the back. I provide FREE UK Delivery and I also ship Internationally using tracked delivery so I can ensure the painting arrives at the correct destination and in a timely manner.
