This painting was completely inspired by one colour…I knew from the beginning of the process I wanted to use the colour Cadmium Scarlet. My paintings are also always highly dependent on my emotions and how I’m feeling at the time. In its simple form this painting shows the drama of a Scarlet Sunset melting into the dark hilly horizon. And on a much deeper level this painting is more than a landscape - it’s a mirrored reflection of my inner world at a certain moment in time. I painted this during a period of time when words failed me, but my art and my paint brush become my voice.
This original oil painting was created on a linen canvas and is gloss varnished. Its signed on the back and ready to hang, it’s more than art to me - it’s a moment of my truth.
I absolutely loved creating this piece, this is a true statement piece for lovers of nature’s wilder untamed moods.
