This Mini Moody was inspired by my love of the unknown! And my fascination with the endless mysteries of the universe. When I first sat down at this small blank canvas my imagination was thinking about are we truly alone and also the curiosity of human beings in general.

I had so much fun painting this mini moody painting! I loved adding in the tiny UAP light in the sky that may or may not be following the car headlights below. The car headlights are glowing as though it’s trying to escape or maybe it could even be being guided somewhere.

I wanted to create a storm cloud painting of wonder, mystery and imagination. Even though it is a small painting it carries a big question: what else is out there?

This original oil painting is part of a small canvas collection called Mini Moody’s.

This Mini Moody was inspired by the power of passing storms. Dark grey clouds gather above a gentle hillside, this painting is heavy with feeling and movement in the clouds. A beam of light is breaking through the top right-hand corner offering a moment of hope.

When I am painting on such a small canvas, I still like to make sure that it is packed with atmosphere and also gives you a feeling when you are staring at it. And that feeling is meaningful to the viewer and it’s also something personal to them.

For me the light in the clouds feels divine, I can imagine this hanging somewhere peaceful in a quiet little reading nook or even alongside some other stormy landscapes.

This small oil painting was inspired by the energy of nature’s contrasts. The black stormy sky with the grey clouds starting to form over the land gives a sense of something inevitable is about to happen. I also gave this mini moody painting the name ‘Listen’, it captures the moment just before nature starts to speak and sing in the form of rain and thunder.

I love this little painting and although it is not framed, I think it would look amazing in a black chunky frame just to make the painting really stand out!

This original oil painting is part of a small canvas collection called Mini Moody’s.

This Mini Moody was inspired by the amazing Supercell Clouds! One of nature’s absolute beasts and forces of nature! I have always wanted to paint a supercell cloud but on a small canvas, painting a cloud that has so much power and force but on a small scale was wild! I wanted to create the ckouds to show them twisting and swirling above the open field below. But most of all I wanted to paint this cloud to show the dramatic beauty of storms.

I named this painting ‘Set Me Free’ because it represents a desire to break free from constraints. Symbolising not only how storms need to be unleashed and released but also as human beings how we need to release the constraints we sometimes place on ourselves whether they are emotional, societal or personal.

This original oil painting is part of a small canvas collection called Mini Moody’s.

This small oil painting is dominated by the darkness of the storm clouds, the storm is so heavy that the darkness looms over the landscape of the hills below. The landscape below the storm I painted with very dark tones with just a few highlights of some grasses in the foreground.

I was inspired by the word ‘Falling’ for this piece and that also inspired the name. When painting the clouds on the right-hand side I wanted to make it look like they were falling into the sky below. Also inspired by a line I read in a poem that said, ‘One wrong step and I fall for you forever’.

This original oil painting is part of a small canvas collection I have started called Mini Moodie's! This is Mini Moody Number six in the collection.

For me this painting is more of a feeling as I wanted to create the clouds to show that moment just before the rain starts to pour down from the heavens. It's when the skies are starting to turn even darker and you can smell the humidity coming off the fields.
