‘The Last Season’
Original Oil Painting
24" x 30" x 1.5"
Oil on cotton box canvas
The Last Season is a painting that asks you to stop for a moment. This piece certainly doesn’t whisper it speaks with confidence. The deep burnt sienna, fiery oranges and rich reds rolling through the storm cloud above a glowing golden wheat field create a piece that commands attention and brings an undeniable energy to any space.
As with all of my work, the perfectly straight horizon line is a signature that runs throughout my paintings. For me, it represents balance, stillness and certainty, even when everything above it feels uncertain. From the left-hand side of the horizon, light breaks through, reminding us that hope has a habit of finding its way into even the darkest skies.
When I first began painting The Last Season many months ago, it was inspired by thoughts that had been sitting with me for a long time. I found myself reflecting on the increasing power of Mother Nature, the growing unpredictability of our seasons, and what the future of our landscapes could look like. I imagined fields struggling to produce what they once did and storms becoming more frequent and more intense. Rather than creating a scene of fear, I wanted to paint a moment that invites reflection and a reminder of both nature's incredible beauty and its immense power.
What feels particularly surreal is that I started this painting long before the devastating wildfires that have recently affected parts of Europe. Watching those events unfold has made this piece feel unexpectedly relevant. While that was never my intention, it has reinforced something I have always believed and that is art often has a way of reflecting emotions and possibilities before we fully recognize them ourselves.
My paintings have never been about decorating a wall with something simply beautiful. They are about creating emotion, starting conversations and encouraging people to pause and think. Sometimes that means confronting subjects that feel a little uncomfortable. Perhaps The Last Season is an uncomfortable truth staring back at us from the canvas but it is also a reminder of resilience, of light breaking through, and of our connection to the natural world.
I believe the most powerful art isn't always the easiest to look at. It's the art that stays with you long after you've walked away.

Original Landscape Painting, Canvas Wall Art, Original Artwork, 'Remain' 27.5" x 35.4", By Amber Brunsden Art.
Original oil painting 'Remain'.
“Remain” is an original oil painting measuring 27.5" x 35.4", created as an expression of endurance through life’s darker moments. In this piece, I explore the weight and movement of heavy, moody grey clouds - thick and almost bubbling with energy - as they gather strength across the sky. There’s a sense of pressure building, as if the storm is on the verge of breaking.
Below, the landscape mirrors this intensity. Dark, rolling hills are painted in deep greens and earthy browns, grounding the composition in a quiet heaviness. In the foreground, grasses in muted tones of brown and green add texture and stillness, holding their place beneath the looming sky.
Yet even within the darkness, I’ve painted light breaking through at the top right corner - subtle, but intentional. For me, this light represents resilience. It’s a reminder that even in the most overwhelming moments, something persists.
“Remain” is deeply personal. It was inspired by my own emotional journey through difficult times - the internal storms, the weight of uncertainty, and the effort it takes simply to keep going. This painting is about that quiet strength: the act of remaining when everything feels like it’s shifting, darkening, or falling apart. It’s about holding on, standing still, and trusting that light will find its way through.

‘Sleepwalk’
Original oil painting - 16” × 20” - By Amber Brunsden Art
I painted ‘Sleepwalk’ from a place of grief, loss and the strange feeling of moving through time when you're grieving someone you love.
There are moments when life carries on around you, yet you feel as though you're sleepwalking through it all. Days blur together, the world feels unfamiliar, and even the simplest things can feel distant.
A vast, black sky hangs heavily over a bright yellow field, with storm clouds stretching across the horizon. In the top left corner, a small opening of light breaks through the darkness, creating a powerful contrast between the two.
The darkness in this painting reflects the weight of grief, while the yellow field represents the world continuing to exist beyond it. That small glimpse of light is a reminder that even when everything feels heavy, something beautiful can still exist within the darkness.
‘Sleepwalk’s an original, one-of-a-kind oil painting, created intuitively from imagination, colour and emotion. A deeply personal landscape about grief, loss and the feeling of simply moving through time.

Original Landscape Painting, Canvas Wall Art, Original Artwork, 'The Storm’s Symphony' 24” X 36”, By Amber Brunsden Art.
Original oil painting 'The Storm’s Symphony'.
‘The Storm’s Symphony’ is an original oil painting where I have worked on capturing the raw beauty and intensity of a storm that is sweeping across an open field. I have painted heavy storm clouds gathering on the right side of the canvas, yet in the top left-hand corner the light breaks through casting a soft glow on the field below.
For me, storms have always carried a deep emotional pull as it’s something I can really tell a story on the canvas with, whilst also painting with pure emotion. When painting this piece, the brushes are mirroring the intensity I’m feeling at that time, but I’m also transported to another place as I feel as though it is something I have to paint and a feeling of somewhere I’ve been or could be seeing in the future.
I decided to call this painting ‘The Storm’s Symphony’ because of the rhythm and energy I used when creating this piece, even in the quiet moments when painting this piece, I could feel the quiet strength moving across the canvas.
I want this painting to invite you to feel, to connect and just pause and feel the energy created. Just as I find meaning in storms and mother nature, I hope it stirs something in you, whether this is calmness, reflection, a memory or a reminder of a past place.
This original oil painting was created on a cotton canvas, after leaving for weeks to cure it was then oiled out and then retouched varnished. I decided not to apply a gloss varnish as I was happy with the sheen and way it looks without the gloss. It’s signed on the back and ready to hang, it’s more than art to me - it’s a moment of my truth.
I absolutely loved creating this piece, this is a true statement piece for lovers of storms untamed moods.

Original Landscape Oil Painting, Canvas Wall Art, Original Artwork, 'Beyond The Darkness’, 31.5” x 31.5” x 1.5”, By Amber Brunsden Art.
My first signature piece of 2025, I’m proud to now be releasing 'Beyond The Darkness'.
This painting portrays a dramatic scene of swirling dark clouds which are looming over the horizon creating mystery of what is….Beyond the darkness.
This original oil painting was inspired by my love of the powerful forces of nature. I knew from the beginning that I wanted the grasses to be green as for me that is symbolising resilience and hope which is my metaphor of renewal and perseverance.
When creating this piece of art, I completely let my emotions guide the process. The clouds were painted with purpose as I wanted to express my deep connection to the scene and my passion in the contrast. This painting has true emotional energy thrown into it as my goal as an artist is to make people feel when they are looking at my art.
This painting is a true reflection of myself as an artist and shows my love for painting stormy landscapes. I truly have a deep love and connection with this painting, and I can’t wait for it to find its forever home where it will create a powerful focal point in any room!
I also chose to varnish this painting with a gloss varnish as it really makes the dark clouds look even more ominous!

Original Landscape Painting, Small Painting, Canvas Wall Art, 8x8" 'Stormbreak' Original Painting by Amber Brunsden
This original oil painting is part of a small canvas collection called Mini Moody’s.
Stormbreak
8" x 8" Oil on Canvas
In Stormbreak, I wanted to capture that brief moment when a storm begins to shift and the landscape holds its breath between darkness and light. A dramatic storm cloud gathers over an open field, its weight and movement filling the sky, while the land below remains quiet and steadfast.
Working in oil on canvas, I explored the contrast between the powerful atmosphere above and the calm simplicity of the field beneath. The changing light and subtle tones evoke a sense of anticipation, resilience, and the ever-changing moods of the natural world.
Though intimate in size, Stormbreak draws the viewer into a vast landscape, inviting reflection on nature's beauty, strength, and constant transformation.
This painting would sit perfectly on a side board, desk, shelf or hung on the wall where you have a little space that you want to make an impact!

Mini Moody
Original Landscape Painting, Small Painting, Canvas Wall Art, 8x8" 'Stormlight' Original Painting by Amber Brunsden
This original oil painting is part of a small canvas collection called Mini Moody’s.
This Mini Moody was inspired by the power of passing storms. Dark grey clouds gather above a gentle hillside, this painting is heavy with feeling and movement in the clouds. A beam of light is breaking through the top right-hand corner offering a moment of hope.
When I am painting on such a small canvas, I still like to make sure that it is packed with atmosphere and also gives you a feeling when you are staring at it. And that feeling is meaningful to the viewer and it’s also something personal to them.
For me the light in the clouds feels divine, I can imagine this hanging somewhere peaceful in a quiet little reading nook or even alongside some other stormy landscapes.
This Mini Moody original oil painting is a blend of softness and power. I can’t wait for it to find its forever home!
